Core loop
Loot is only useful if it gets back aboard
Use lighting to check floors, corners, containers, and blocked spaces.
Pull objects clear or break apart large loot where current rules allow it.
Carry, pass, throw, or load valuables without losing the retreat route.
The official objective is the return, not simply finding treasure.

What changed after launch
- 01A pile follows its heaviest item
The September 1 update replaced separate drifting objects with one combined movement behavior led by the heaviest piece.
- 02Some held objects block extra grabs
While holding a cart, cauldron, door, booty, or another player’s hand, the same update says you can no longer stack extra grabs on top.
- 03Large objects became lighter
The August 25 balance update made large objects about 26% lighter. Treat that as a dated balance note, not a permanent physical constant.
Elastic arms
Use reach without relying on outdated door advice
The current store still describes elastic arms as the main way to grab loot and interact with the environment. Early Access also supports breaking larger valuables into pieces.
Loot threats
Rats take more than coins
Official July 7 notes say rats can snatch small items, not only coins, and can counter-attack after different player actions. Later Early Access patches changed pathing, nest behavior, Rat Defender positioning, and spawn performance.
That supports a simple rule: do not leave small valuables unattended. It does not support a complete Rat King strategy, exact aggro range, or fixed theft priority.

Items named in current official updates
Named for Ship levels; smash it apart and haul it piece by piece.
Officially described as expensive, stronger store weapons; exact values are not published.
The Aug 28 update says healing is quicker and uses right-click.
Official notes removed an incorrect coin tip; effects and values still need live evidence.
New items were added and some older ones removed; no complete official table was published.
Player questions
Loot and treasure FAQ
When is loot secured in Last Pirates: Die Together?
Official game copy says the goal is to bring the treasure back aboard and keep at least one pirate alive to carry out the gold. Finding or moving an item is not the same as completing the return.
Can rats steal loot?
Yes. Official notes say rats take small items as well as coins and can counter-attack in response to different player actions. Exact current Rat King and Rat Defender rules still need live verification.
Can Strong Arms open doors?
Official September 1 notes say Strong Arms no longer affects regular doors, dresser doors, or chest lids. That rule refers to the upgrade and should not be replaced with older Demo advice.
How does carrying several items work?
The September 1 update says a carried pile now moves as one and follows its heaviest item. It also prevents grabbing extra items while holding a cart, cauldron, door, booty, or another player’s hand.
Can large treasure be broken apart?
The Early Access launch announcement says larger items can be broken into pieces and carried out. The August 21 notes name the Titanic as one large breakable Ship item.
What is the most valuable loot?
No current official complete value table was found. Item values, weights, rarity, and spawn locations should be collected from the live build before publishing a ranking.
