Save checkpoints
Progress saves every day and at each chapter
The August 21 patch explicitly expanded saving to every day while retaining chapter saves. The earlier June 19 save-system update says you can resume from the last chapter reached instead of restarting the whole journey every time.
Official daily-save update ↗Chapter progress
The last reached chapter is a documented resume point
- 01Reach a new chapter
The June update treats chapter reach as saved progression, not merely a menu preview.
- 02Resume from that chapter
The official wording says you can pick up from the last chapter reached rather than starting over every time.
- 03Treat each day as an additional save boundary
The August update adds daily saving, but does not describe manual save slots or a checkpoint selector.
- 04Verify the loaded state
After loading or reconnecting, check the selected day, shop values, and current equipment instead of assuming every subsystem restored identically.
Solo and crew balance
Solo and team voyages use separate tuning
Officially named as different for solo and team play; exact targets are not published.
The available inventory and prices may differ by mode.
Do not transfer a crew loot-count assumption directly to solo play.
The patch confirms separate spawn balance, not a fixed enemy-count table.
Shop and upgrades
The shop changes a voyage, but persistence is not fully documented
Current official launch material names cart upgrades such as Organizer, Deeper Cart, and Cart Cannon, plus a Monkey Assistant that moves small loot. A later update added Golden Sword and Golden Hand Cannon as expensive top-tier store weapons and separately rebalanced the solo store.
Named in the Early Access launch announcement.
A purchasable helper with its own cart is described officially.
Top-tier store weapons as of the August 25 balance note.
No current source defines persistence across all saves, wipes, and lobbies.
Cloud and reconnect
Steam Cloud is supported; reconnect fixes are not save rules
The current store lists Steam Cloud. That confirms platform-level cloud support, but the listing does not identify the synced files, conflict behavior, or whose multiplayer state is authoritative.
Official patches also fixed reconnect problems involving store stats, loading, player locks, teleportation, duplicated events, and misplaced items. Those fixes improve recovery, but they do not establish that reconnecting always preserves every item or returns every player to the latest daily checkpoint.

Confirmed mechanics and open questions
Explicitly announced on August 21.
Resume from the last chapter reached is official June wording.
Listed as a current Steam feature; exact sync contents remain unspecified.
No checked first-party source defines host-versus-guest progression ownership.
No complete rule says which carried, stored, or purchased items survive each checkpoint.
The exact reset point after the whole crew goes down is not documented.
Player questions
Progression and save FAQ
When does Last Pirates: Die Together save progress?
The August 21 official update says progress saves every day and at each chapter. An earlier June 19 update says players can resume from the last chapter reached. The notes do not define every object or stat included in a save.
Can I continue from the last chapter I reached?
Yes. The June 19 official update says chapter progress is saved and that you can pick up from the last chapter reached instead of starting over every time.
Does solo mode have different progression balance?
Official August 21 notes say solo and team play are balanced separately for quota, shop prices and stock, item counts per level, and enemy spawns. They do not publish the current numerical values.
Does Last Pirates: Die Together support Steam Cloud?
The current Steam store lists Steam Cloud as a supported feature. The listing does not explain which save files sync, how conflicts are resolved, or whether a host and guest own the same progression.
Do shop items and upgrades persist between runs?
Official material confirms an in-game shop, cart upgrades, a Monkey Assistant, and store weapon tiers. It does not clearly document which purchases persist across days, chapters, failed runs, or new lobbies, so this guide does not claim a permanent-upgrade rule.
What happens to progress after a full crew wipe or reconnect?
Official patches fixed several reconnect and store-stat problems, but they do not define the current rollback point after a full crew wipe or say whether the host owns all run progress. Those rules still need repeatable live-build verification.
